At work I'm using a BCN3D Sigma to make prints and I'm having a lot of trouble with grinding of the filament. Every so often, I can hear a noise and the filament slips slightly back out of the feeding gear. When this happens, extrusion slows or stops fully. I've tried a bunch of things: 1) slowing the print speed to 40 mm/s (from 60 mm/s), 2) bypassing the initial tube and feeding the filament directly into the gear (so I could help push it through when it slips), 3) disassembling and cleaning the extrusion motor/gear system, 4) removing the bowden tube and running filament through by hand, 5) manually pushing filament through the hot end, 6) tightening/loosening the compression spring on the gear system.stories
I'm printing Matterhackers PLA at 205 C, through a .4 mm nozzle. Some prints run perfectly, and some start grinding. Once prints start grinding, they tend to either stop extruding completely or go through cycles in which sometimes it is extruding a bit. This happens with both extruders.
Any insights into possible problems/solutions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
